    Mr. Wizard, 1917 – 2007

Don Herbert, better known to the world as Mr. Wizard, died yesterday at the age of 89. Mr. Wizard taught the wonders of science to several generations of children with two long-running shows over the years. His first, Watch Mr. Wizard, ran on NBC from 1951 to 1965. A second show, Mr. Wizard’s World, ran on Nickelodeon from 1983 to 1990 with reruns appearing regularly after that.
