Town Board Meeting Concerning the Library

On Monday, April 30th at 6 pm at the McGraw Branch there will be a special Town Board workshop meeting about the Irondequoit Public Library followed at 7 pm by a public input session on drive-thru windows in mixed use areas.

Evans Branch Closed Temporarily *UPDATE*

April 23 – The safety inspection of the Evans Branch of the Irondequoit Public Library has been completed and the library has been deemed safe for the public. So, as of today the Evans Branch has reopened.

April 18 – The Evans Branch has been closed temporarily due to unsafe conditions by order of the Town Board. Holds may be picked up at the McGraw Branch.

New Renewal Policy

As of this Monday (4/9), both branches of the Irondequoit Public Library have changed our renewal policy. From this point forward all items may only be renewed a maximum of two times. Items that are hold for another patron cannot be renewed and items belonging to other libraries in Monroe County may have their own renewal rules attached to them that prevent two renewals. For items belonging to the Irondequoit Public Library, two renewals works out to the following:

DVDs and videos may be renewed twice for a maximum borrowing time of 3 weeks.

New books and holiday items may be renewed twice for a maximum borrowing time of 6 weeks.

All other materials may be renewed twice for a maximum borrowing time of 9 weeks.

It’s Tax Time

April 15th is fast approaching, have you done your taxes yet? If not, the library has many resources available for the last minute filer including forms, instruction booklets, how-to books and informational resources.

The official government sites of the IRS (for federal taxes) and New York state (for state taxes) have all of the forms available to print out. These sites also feature tax tips and information on how to e-File.

The library also has many books on tax preparation. All of these items can be reserved by calling either library (McGraw: 336-6060 & Evans: 336-6062) or using the online catalog:
