The Irondequoit Public Library is happy to announce that wireless Internet access is now available at both branches. Access to this Hotspot is free and requires a laptop or other Internet-enabled device. If you’re unsure of how to setup wireless access on your laptop, please read the instructions below.
How to Connect to the Wireless Internet Hotspot
Make sure that your laptop or other Internet device is equipped with a wireless network card.
1. If the laptop wireless card is enabled, it should alert you that a wireless network is available. Choose LibraryNet and click Connect.
2. If your wireless card is disabled, on your laptop click Start>Control Panel>Network Connections. An icon should appear for Wireless Network Connection. If it has a red X next to it, it is disabled.
3. Double click the network icon and it should show a screen that says Choose a Wireless Network.
4. LibraryNet will be listed. This is the library’s wireless network. Click Connect.
5. If LibraryNet is not listed, click View Available Wireless Networks and it should appear.
Happy surfing.
